The Graduate Student Government GRID Planning Committee (GPC) is seeking a graduate student to serve as GRID Coordinator for the planning and production of GRID 2011 to be held on April 6, 2011. The position appointment period is from January 24, 2011 – April 8, 2011 with approximately 5 hours per  $16/hour with potentially increased hours approaching the day of the event. Scheduling of hours per week is flexible.

Eligible candidates must be organized and detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Ideal candidates must be enthusiastic and able to work well in a group environment. Candidates must also be willing to work under and enforce deadlines. Previous experience in event planning is strongly desired.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Vice President for Academic Affairs in overseeing GRID planning
  • Working with the various GPC subcommittees to help them follow-through on their responsibilities and meet deadlines (subcommittees include: Panels & Plenary, Awards, Logistics, Publicity, and Judges & Mentors)
  • Helping manage and record financial transactions related to the GRID budget
  • Attending all GPC meetings and keeping schedules for all subcommittee meetings

Candidates mustbe currently enrolled graduate students. This position will require students on assistantship to obtain an overload approval from their program, so please ensure you are eligible before considering applying.
