The Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Education (OMSE) seeks a graduate assistant to assist with the coordination of the College Success Scholars (CSS) program for Summer 2010/2010-2011 academic year.
The CSS program provides comprehensive, structured ongoing personal, academic and professional support to participants with an emphasis on the experiences of multi-ethnic males at the University of Maryland.
GA responsibilities include: Monitoring the progress of participants; Ensuring program forms are completed efficiently; Coordinating workshops and programs; Establishing and implementing short and long range advising strategies; Assisting students in achieving academic excellence and degree requirements; Working collaboratively with the Director, and other related duties.
This assistantship will require weekly evening coverage and occasional weekend work. The successful candidate must have experience working with an academic support program and a wide range of racial/ethnic gr! oups as well as other underrepresented male populations.
