Graduate Assistantship (9.5 months)
English Undergraduate Studies Office
  • Answering students’ questions by telephone and e-mail
  • Setting appointments
  • Filing and pulling files
  • Updating and photocopying printed handouts
  • Assisting with special projects
  • Assembling and producing a weekly electronic newsletter for majors and minors
  • Posting of articles and nominal items to the English Department Web site (no Web development skills required)
  • Providing support, as needed, to the Director, Assistant Director, and Advisors
  • Miscellaneous office work as assigned

This is a twenty hour per week position. Position reports to the Senior Advisor.

Must be currently enrolled in a UMCP graduate program. Ability to function in an office environment and work effectively with people in a team atmosphere. Strong computer skills required along with an interest in undergraduate students. Preference will be given to applicants with at least one full year remaining in their studies.

Salary and Benefits:
Level I graduate assistantship stipend including tuition remission and health benefits.

Start date:
Monday, August 16, 2010
