Budget and Finance Committee
The GSG finances student activities that contribute to the general enrichment
of the graduate students university experience. The finance committee of the
GSG is the entity that reviews applications from student organizations and
determines whether proposed activities should be funded. Members of the finance
committee are responsible for reviewing funding proposals on a timely basis.

Standing Rules:
- Committee business shall be conducted as described in the GSG Committee Handbook, Section III.
- Quorum for the committee is 3.
- The committee will take an initial vote by e-mail within 5 days of
an EFR being posted on the forum on all EFRs submitted by groups that
have received or are asking to receive less than 5% of the annual EFR
budget The committee will attempt to reach quorum through e-mail
discussion.
- The committee will meet when quorum cannot be reached about an EFR
by e-mail or when required by the general assembly.
- Decisions made by the BFC will be reported at General Assembly
meetings during the Vice-President for Financial Affairs' report.
- Possible actions concerning EFRs that can be taken by the committee
are:
a. Award full funding.
b. Award partial funding.
c. Deny funding.
d. Request more information about the event before making a
decision.
e. Request the group submitting the EFR to make revisions before
consideration.
- Members of the BFC may not vote on any EFR submitted by organizations or departments of which they are currently or have been members.
