GSG Committees are responsible for carrying out much of the day-to-day work of the GSG, since they can consider business in more detail than is possible in a single monthly meeting. Committees are now forming and they are a great way to get involved! Standing Committees:

• The Academic Affairs committee reviews University and Grad School policies and develops GSG proposals on issues pertaining to the academic and professional development of graduate students. Assists with the execution and management of GRID.
• The Budget and Finance Committee reviews student requests for GSG funding.
• The Diversity Committee shall reach out to cultural groups across campus in order to build stronger ties throughout the graduate student community and shall work to promote diversity within the GSG.
• The Elections Committee shall reach out to cultural groups across campus in order to build stronger ties throughout the graduate student community and shall work to promote diversity within the GSG.
• The Governance Committee presides over elections disputes, impeachment proceedings, and is the highest authority in the GSG concerning all matters of interpretation of the GSG Constitution, Bylaws, Executive Orders, and all other statutes.
• The Graduate Student Affairs Committee considers issues such as stipends, housing, benefits, unionization, and transportation.
• The Legislative Action Committee ensures that UMCP graduate students are in the minds of decision makers on a University, local, and state level and asssists in the communication process.
• The Social and Sport Committee provides social and recreational opportunities for graduate students.
• The Ways and Means Committee sets the agenda for Assembly meetings.

Adhoc Committees:

• The Recruitment and Retention Committee is an ad-hoc committee now meeting to discuss increasing representation in the GSG.
• The Governing Documents Review Committee is an ad-hoc committee charged with a review of the GSG Constitution and Bylaws.
