A perceived increase of criminal activity at Graduate Hills and Graduate Gardens has lead to a growing and pervasive sense of, as one graduate student resident put it, “insecurity.” As a result, the GSG has created the Presidential Task Force on Graduate Security. This task force will be examining what the GSG, the University, and Southern Management are doing to address safety issues at Graduate Hills and Graduate Gardens and what they can do in the future to address the concerns of residents.
As members of the University community, we would like to invite you to participate in this important task. We are currently forming the Task Force, which will meet and draft a report/plan of action for the GSG. Jon Lemich, Task Force Executive Secretary, will be calling a meeting for interested parties. We would appreciate your participation.
Please email Jon Lemich at lemichj@wam.umd.edu by April 29th and let him know if you would like to serve on the Task Force. Please also include general dates/times in May and June that you CANNOT attend a meeting.
