Campus Student Technology Fee Advisory Committee February 25, 2005 at 4:00 pm Room 0106, Patuxent Building Meeting Notes
Attendees: Voting Members: Brooke Shrader (ENGR), Ryan Ballengee (PUAF), Helen Garst (AGNR), Nathan Zahm (BSOS), Megan Lee Moy (BMGT), David Roberts (CMPS), Charles Chitwood (HHLP), Swapnil Sharma (LFSC) Ex Officio: Jeffrey Huskamp (OIT), Victor Korenman (Academic Affairs), Gloria Aparicio (Administrative Affairs), Layla Shahamut (Graduate SGA), Dorothy Chrismer (OIT)
1. Dr. Jeffrey Huskamp, Vice President and CIO, presented the Committee with its charge. Related information is contained in the CSTFAC Implementation Plan.
2. Gloria Aparicio, Assistant to the Vice President for Admin. Affairs, advised the Committee of its first initiative. Each voting member should discuss with their College how Student Technology Fee funds were used and if the Fees should be increased. The current fee is $42 per semester. How each College was able to utilize its FY03 and FY04 Student Technology Fee funds should be a basis for the College advising whether or not an increase is justifiable. OIT will contact the Colleges for project information; however, each Committee member should work with their College to determine their recommendation. The Committee needs to make a recommendation regarding whether or not to increase the Student Technology Fee by the first week in April.
3. Election: Ryan Ballengee was elected Chair of the Committee. David Roberts was elected Vice Chair of the Committee.
4. The Committee discussed the best time for the next meeting. Wednesday evenings at 7 pm was the best time for most members. The Chair and Vice Chair will coordinate, organize and lead the Committee meetings and activities.
