Doc's been posting about the National Association for Graduate-Professional Students, and to continue the discussion, I'd like to point out that an affiliated organization is Alpha Epsilon Lambda, a graduate student leader honor society.
I'd really like to charter a chapter here, and I was wondering what your interest might be.
To start, we'd need 5-10 grad students as members (that should be easy: I figured I'd solicit the GSG execs still on campus, the grad student senators, and grad student members of campus-wide committees), a faculty advisor, $150 (charter fee), and a bunch of paperwork, which I can deal with.
Towson University has a chapter, which is a great sign that we sh/could have one, too!

The UMCP chapter of AEL has received its charter name: Alpha Xi.
I sent a message to all current execs, GS Senators, members of GSG committees, and GS members of Senate committees, inviting them to join, which entails a very easy ap form and $15. We need at least five GS who meet the requirements to complete the charter.
If anyone else is interested, please let me know!
