GSG Assembly
Every fee-paying graduate student at the University of Maryland is a member of Graduate Student Government. A smaller number of students, called Program Representatives, convene monthly as an Assembly to discuss issues which require collective action. Anyone can attend these open meetings, but only the Representatives can vote on the resolutions and amendments presented. We follow parliamentary procedure in the Assembly to ensure democratic and reasonably efficient operations. A schedule of Assembly meetings is provided below for the current session (academic year). Minutes from previous meetings are also available for your convenience. If a student is interested in submitting a piece of legislation to the Assembly for a vote, he or she can send an electronic copy to the Ways and Means Committee for placement on the next agenda. The deadline for submission is three weeks prior to the meeting date. Send the legislation to the Chair of Ways and Means at gsg-vpla-=AT=-umd.edu.
